Our main focus is to perform centralised grading for national diabetic screening programme to the public, ensuring that most diabetic patients are covered within this cost-effective and time-efficient solution. We also offer solutions to external healthcare providers, who are not under this scheme, to allow them to reach out to other private and public patients. Through this programme, we facilitate more responsive and appropriate eye monitoring and specialist referrals for diabetic patients.
The team seeks opportunities to liaise and work with industry partners, local and overseas collaborators, providing clinical trial standard reading services on different eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma and cataract with strict quality assurance. To ensure and maintain high quality imaging throughout the duration of the trials, we provide certification of equipment and photographers according to industry standards.
SORC also conducts training workshops, consultation, mentoring sessions and accreditation for a spectrum of ocular imaging techniques for both local and overseas partners and collaborators.
We take on an extensive array of research projects. Our ophthalmic technicians are trained to use a variety of imaging platforms to interpret colour fundus, fluorescein angiogram (FA), optical coherence tomography (OCT), and Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICGA). We also use different methods and protocols to perform SIVA, ETDRS and AMD grading.
SIVA (Singapore “I” Vessel Assessment) software is a user-friendly, largely automated system that can identify and measure retinal vessel features from a standard digital retinal photograph. It provides accurate measurement of vascular structure from retinal images using computer-aided programmes.
We pride ourselves on maintaining high standards to deliver quality and reliable results. We strive to be one of the leading innovators in providing industry partners and research collaborators with computer-aided imaging, reading and analysis of ocular images and other related service through our well-equipped IT infrastructure.
