Clomipramine

​Clomipramine belongs to a class of medications known as Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs). It is used to treat symptoms of depression (low mood) such as:

• Feeling sad
• Feeling hopeless or worthless
• Feeling bad about yourself
• Thoughts of ending your life
• Poor sleep, energy or appetite.

It may also be used to treat symptoms of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) such as:

• Recurring, disruptive and disturbing thoughts
• Repeated checking behaviour
• Repeated washing behaviour
