VisionSave has supported efforts such as the Leadership Development Programme developed by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. I was fortunate enough to be the only Asian participant nominated to undergo the programme in the 20th graduating class. 

The year-long programme includes multiple courses and masterclasses on leadership and communication taught by ophthalmology experts from the USA, Central America and South America. With the skills learned from this programme, I hope to establish a similar programme here in Asia to encourage ophthalmologists to develop and learn from experts from other fields outside of Medicine.

"Patient care has always been the central focus of my career, and I’m passionate about teaching younger nurses about the ethos and values of good nursing. To do so, good training in ophthalmic nursing is necessary, and we need to enrol more nurses in SNEC programmes such as the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing (Ophthalmology), as well as courses for ophthalmic assistants and technicians."

VisionSave has worked with the D.S. Lee foundation to offer educational bursaries to eligible nursing students. Such generous contributions help keep our education and training initiatives sustainable.
