Our Social Media Community Guidelines

Welcome to our social media platforms where we share healthcare information and the latest news from SNEC and SERI. To help ensure that online interaction remains meaningful and constructive for everyone, we regularly monitor these spaces and we ask that you follow these social media community guidelines when participating on our social media channels.

  1. Please do not post spam or advertisements.

  2. Please do not evaluate, endorse or recommend any particular healthcare provider, medication or treatment.

  3. Be respectful of other members of the community. Please do not post any inappropriate content.

  4. We reserve the right to edit and/or remove any content we deem as inappropriate or objectionable, and to block or ban users who violate these social media community guidelines. The following are examples of content, including comments, posts, images and videos, which may be removed:
      a.  Cyber-bullying, abusive, hurtful or defamatory comments (i.e. making negative personal comments      about a fellow commenter)

      b.  Violation of the privacy of our patients and/or their families/next-of-kin/caregivers, and/or our      employees; by disclosing personal data such as their names, NRIC numbers, telephone numbers,      addresses or medical information

      c.  Off-topic and redundant comments. This includes promotion of events, groups, pages, websites,      organisations and programmes not related to or affiliated with our organisation

      d.  Vulgarities, offensive language or “hate speech” (e.g. on topics such as politics, race, ethnicity, religion      or gender)

      e.  Content that infringes copyright or which may contain confidential or proprietary information

      f.   Fake news

While we try to be prompt, we cannot always assure a timely response. We seek your understanding under such circumstances.

We are not able to facilitate medical advice on social media. Medical advice and subsequent treatment can only be rendered after a clinical assessment of one’s condition. Information posted by administrators, participants or any third-parties (e.g. commenters) should not be considered as medical advice. Any information posted on our social media platforms is not intended to replace consultation with qualified physicians or other qualified healthcare professionals.

All links to other websites from our social media sites, pages or groups are provided as a service to users. These do not constitute endorsement from us and we are not responsible for the content of external websites, pages and groups.

By submitting content to our social media pages (e.g. in the form of wall posts, photos, comments, etc.), you understand that this information is publicly accessible, and that we may use this information in our publications and other communications.

Please note that other participants may use any information/comments that you post. If you do not wish to have your information published or used by another party, please do not post it.

By participating on our social media channels, you agree to abide by the community guidelines stated above. We believe that the guidelines will help us to do our part in building an online community that is beneficial to all.
