The department’s work is benchmarked against the international “best-in-class”. The types of surgeries performed, and the success rates are shown in Figure 6.1 to 6.6.
Of the patients undergoing ptosis surgery, 97% expressed satisfaction with the surgical results in 2014 (91% achieved good symmetry or no-more than 1mm asymmetry).
Surgical audits from 2010 demonstrated that 98% of all cases achieved good lid-globe apposition for entropion correction.
Of the patients undergoing blepharoplasty surgery, 82.4% rated their experience as satisfactory or excellent. The average and median ratings were 7 out of 10.
