She currently practices at Sengkang Hospital’s Department of Surgery, sub-specialising in breast surgical oncology, breast surgery, and is one of the few surgeons in Singapore formally trained in oncoplastic breast surgery, minimally invasive and endoscopic breast surgery. She is also a live surgical operator, with a special interest in minimally invasive breast surgical demonstration and training.

Besides pursuing clinical excellence, Asst Prof Sabrina is passionate about under-graduate education, post-graduate education and academic teaching. She holds academic positions including Assistant Professor of Duke-NUS Post-graduate Medical School, Assistant Professor of Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, was former Clinical Block Lead (2019 to 2023) and is current and Clinical Teacher of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine Singapore. She is Physician Faculty with SingHealth’s Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Program and Physician Faculty with SingHealth’s General Surgery Residency Program. She is also Programme Director (PD) of the SKH Advanced Breast Surgery (Oncoplastic and Minimally Invasive) Fellowship programme.

As participant, panelist, invited faculty, or organising committee member, she presents her surgical and scientific work regularly in conferences and meetings around the world.

With an interest in hospital administrations, service and systems development, she takes pride in her multidisciplinary, collaborative, co-creations - the SKH Breast Centre’s 1-Stop BrEAST (One Stop Breast Evaluation, Accelerated Screening and Treatment) service, the SKH Oncoplastic and MIBS service, the SKH Lymphoedema service, the STABLE (STability Assessment of BIRADS3 LEsions) programme, and the Breast Cancer Collaborative Survivorship (BCCS) programme. Asst Prof Sabrina is an active member of the Sengkang General Hospital Medical Board, an executive committee member of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Breast Centre.

Her breast and surgical oncology practice covers breast cancer screening and detection, benign breast diseases, breast cancer evaluation, diagnosis, counselling, surgical management, and surveillance. Experienced in a wide range of breast procedures, she performs minimally invasive image-guided breast biopsies, breast lump and lesion excisions, localisation excision and resection procedures under imaging guidance with both wire and wire-free techniques (such as magnetic seed and radar guidance), oncological breast cancer surgeries such as breast conserving cancer surgery, including that with oncoplastic breast surgery such as mastopexy, mammoplasty, and intercostal artery perforator flaps, intraoperative radiotherapy, mastectomies including simple mastectomy, skin-sparing, nipple-sparing mastectomy and minimally invasive endoscopic breast surgery with immediate (or delayed) breast reconstruction, sentinel lymph node biopsy, targeted axillary dissection, and axillary lymph node dissection/clearance. She works closely with a multidisciplinary team including breast radiologists, pathologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gynaecologists, genetic counsellors, geneticists, specialist breast nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, plastic and reconstructive microsurgeons and medical social workers. She also manages patients for general surgical conditions, performs screening, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, and operative procedures, including laparoscopic surgery for other general surgical conditions.

Asst Prof Sabrina’s main interest lies in cutting edge breast cancer surgical techniques that considers the patients oncological safety alongside their need for aesthetic, quality of life and function preserving solutions. She is particularly passionate about minimally invasive breast surgery, tailoring ‘off-the-breast’ and ‘minimal-access’ incisions to provide the illusion of ‘nearly-scarless’ breast resections. She believes in meticulous diagnostic and therapeutic discussions, followed by the creation and tailoring of a personalised oncoplastic approach involving multidisciplinary services, to guide each patient and their loved ones through their treatment journey and survivorship.
