Profile
Prof Ecosse Lamoureux is a tenured Professor with the Duke-NUS Medical School. He undertakes his clinical research at the Singapore Eye Research Institute where he is the Director of the Population Research and Clinical Epidemiology platform.
His research program includes the implementation of novel RCTs; population-based epidemiology studies; prevention and treatment models for vision impairment and care; adherence to management of eye diseases; and patient-centred outcomes. To date, his overall research activities have attracted over S$$41 million in competitive grant funding, which include multiple top-tier individual grants in Australia and Singapore. He currently holds a Singapore Clinician Scientist Award (Senior Category).
His contribution to population eye health research is significant. He leads the patient-reported outcomes research component of the Singapore Epidemiology of Eye Diseases (SEED) programme and has contributed significantly to the better understanding of the economic, social and personal burden; and considerable impact of vision impairment and ocular pathologies in Singapore and Asia. His recent work includes a large population-based study to better understand the burden and complex mechanisms underlying age-related sensory decline in Singapore.
To date, he has ~420 publications in top international journals, with a current H and i10-indices of 59 and 267, respectively.
