Nurses are the backbone of NHCS, working tirelessly to ensure that our heart patients receive the optimal care. To appreciate our nursing angels, NHCS staff stepped forward to donate towards the “Celebrating our Nursing Angels 2024” campaign, and at the same time, to support our needy heart patients!
Happy faces filled NHCS’ corridors as our nurses received the lovely appreciation gift packs, contributed with love and gratitude by
NHCS management and staff - as part of the “Celebrating Our Nursing Angels 2024” staff giving campaign.
This campaign allows staff to show their appreciation to our nursing angels with a donation of at least $120 to the
NHCS Heart To Heart Fund, to contribute towards a gift pack for our nurses. The gift pack is packed with thoughtful wellness products such as bird’s nest, honey and eye mask.
Dr Ong Boon Hean, Deputy Head & Senior Consultant, Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, expressed his heartfelt thanks to our nurses. "I hope my support for this campaign can bring some joy to our nurses. Thank you (nurses) for all the care and support that you have provided to our patients. Your dedication is truly commendable. Happy Nurses’ Day!”
When asked what motivated her to support the campaign, Xue Ling, a Principal Physiotherapist, shared, “To thank the nurses for their dedication and for a good cause! I am grateful for our nurses who have worked hard and tirelessly to care for our patients. In the spirit of giving, let’s remember to offer a helping hand and bring warmth to those in need.”

As part of the campaign, donors also received a cute stalk of bear rose when they donated a minimum of $8. Dr Kamalesh Anbalakan, Consultant, Department of Cardiology, who supported the campaign and gave away all his roses to the nurses, shared, “Our nurses are the bedrock of our clinical services and it’s easy to take them for granted. Supporting this campaign is a small gesture on my part to show my appreciation to the nurses whom I work with while doing good to help our needy patients!”
Ms Cassandra Ng, a Social Work Assistant at NHCS, decided to give the rose to her mother who is a SingHealth nurse. “My mom has been a nurse for the past 27 years. As both a mother and a nurse, she has exemplified the qualities of compassion and resilience. She inspires me to apply those qualities in my work as a fellow healthcare professional!”
Happy faces of colleagues who supported the Celebrating in Nursing Angels 2024 campaign!
